I know, because I have put these 6 PRINCIPLES into PRACTICE and they truly do work.
That is what is so fascinating about human psychology, you can always rely on it.
We, as humans, naturally react in certain ways to triggers around us.
Principle #1 – Become genuinely interested in other people.
Principle #2 – Smile.
Principle #3 – Remember that a person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
Principle #4 – Be a good listener: Encourage others to talk about themselves.
Principle #5 – Talk in terms of the other person’s interests.
Principle #6 – Make the other person feel important – and do it sincerely.

I just finished reading: Influence - Psychology of Persuasion (Robert Cialdini).
Wow, what a great book!
I learned six principles that I thought were important to share with you. These principles, when used, will grow your INFLUENCE with people.
As MARKETERS, we want to grow our INFLUENCE, both offline and online.
These concepts are proven and timeless. They worked in the PAST, they will work TODAY and they will work in the FUTURE.
To get results, begin to incorporate these principles into all of your marketing activities.
When you write ARTICLES, EMAILS, create VIDEOS, speak with PROSPECTS, etc.
1. RECIPRICATION
When you receive something from someone, people feel an obligation to give back. This isn’t limited to THINGS; it may also come back in the way you are treated. If someone treats you in a kind way, you are likely to treat them back in the same way.
Example: Charities sometimes give gifts before asking for a donation.
2. SCARCITY
When people perceive something as POPULAR and in SHORT SUPPLY, they will want to have it. This explains the power of LIMITED TIME and LIMITED QUANTITY offers when there’s little reason for limits of either.
Example: Ad copy states “I can only help the first 100 people” or “This offer will only be good until midnight tonight”. You don’t believe it, you just perceive it.
3. AUTHORITY
You can persuade people if they perceive that you know something and have credibility about a subject. This effect includes testimonials and reliance of people in social circles to believe the group’s “EXPERTS”.
Example: Silvester Stallone is a good boxer because he was in “ROCKY” = PERCEPTION. Silvester Stallone is an actor = REALITY.
4. COMMITMENT
If you can get people to commit to an order or request, they are likely to go through with the commitment. This is especially true if you sign a document or state your intentions publicly.
Example: Make a telephone call to pledge a monthly donation to a charity.
5. LIKING
The more people KNOW, LIKE and TRUST you, the more you can influence them. These people will do things for you willingly.
Example: My daughter (because I know, like and trust her) can ask me for anything, anytime, anywhere.
6. CONSENSUS
The more people you see buying a product, the more likely you are to buy it too. “Food tastes better at restaurants with long lines!” It just does!
You use the WISDOM of the crowd to save you time in deciding to purchase.
Example: If you see long lines of people waiting to buy the next NEW cellphone, you decide that it is a good cellphone.

Today, I was talking to my 14 year old daughter about her chemistry class
and she proceeded to share her FRUSTRATIONS about some of her “LAB” partners.
Like, how some of them only like to implement their own ideas and others don’t add value to the group. They are causing people to “MOVE AWAY” without realizing it.
This got me thinking about my “SOCIAL MEDIA” partners.
Some of them are acting in ways that are causing people to “MOVE AWAY”, instead of “MOVING TOWARD” them. And I know you don’t want that to happen.

Then you have come across people who…
send you direct messages (daily) about how they can show you a way to
earn $1000′s in a week without ever sponsoring anyone.
Have you experienced this?
Social media sites can be a great place to ATTRACT people to YOU for purposes of sharing your business, services or products.
However, before a person will do any type of business with you, they have to…
KNOW, LIKE and TRUST you.
This cannot happen while you are shouting your OPT-IN links from the rooftops of your favorite social media sites.
How do I know this? Because I know how it makes ME feel. When I see and hear this, I want to “MOVE AWAY”. And if I am feeling this way, others are too.
So, below are 8 way to help you become more ATTRACTIVE in SOCIAL MEDIA sites:

1. Point people to BLOGS or ARTICLES that you think are great.
If YOU think they are great, chances are others will too!
2. Introduce like-minded people to each other. You can be their match-maker for resources!
3. Create useful resources – i.e., blog posts, ebooks or videos that help people solve problems.
4. Find mutual interests and talk about them.
This works even better if they are not about your business.
Talk about their kids or favorite recipies.
5. Make comments on about other people’s observations, posts, and ideas.
This can matter alot to people…
In Twitter: re-tweeting an update
In Facebook: comment on their status message
In YouTube: leave a comment on their channel
6. Be alert and remember things they mention.
Like if they are singing the national anthem at a baseball game on
Saturday night, ask them on Sunday how it went.
7. Spread information around for other people.
If someone is promoting something, spread it around.
8. Make sure you reply to people and create and extend conversations.
Implement these guidelines and see your SOCIAL MEDIA relationships blossom!
